ALJUNIED VEGETARIAN PLACE(YES NATURAL F&B PTE LTD)
"When life gives a hundred reasons to cry, show life you have a thousand reasons to smile." (like these awesome yoghurts that I'm going to talk about later in my post)
And So......it's another day in camp but this time, filled with a much different subplot:
3 more of my buddies have ORD-ed from G8 Branch!
It is certainly part of life to see people come and go but seeing people ORD provides a SPARK.
It is true that when people leave a place, you feel that tinge of sadness. But at the same time, you do realise you're actually one more step closer to ORD yourself!
So To those serving the nation~ STRIVE ON!
Chances are though, during your NS stint, you will meet people who are just there to spoil your time there and find trouble with you.
And that oddly.... brings me to the story of my food post of the day~
Bear with me, it's related.
Aljunied actually is a place that houses many temples and I was at one of the Buddhism talks there one fine Sunday. The main learning point from that talk was all about,"观功念恩."(Guan1 Gong1 Nian4 En1)
This actually means seeing the bright side to whoever/whatever the situation regardless if it's a good/bad thing.
When someone is out in the army or in any place to spoil your day.....
Look on the bright side and instead, think of the individual's positive qualities and put yourself in his/her shoes.
It could do wonders to mediate a tricky situation but it certainly takes time to adopt that habit though.
So Aside from gaining that knowledge from my time there, I was glad to be able to taste some delightful food in this Vegetarian Restaurant in the vicinity:
"YES Natural F&B PTE LTD"
Seriously?
I wonder who thought of the name of the restaurant! Such an "eye-catchy" name is definitely not what you want for a restaurant title :/
In contrast, the dishes whipped up in this place are highly creative and colourful.
How to get there:
57 Lorong 27 Geylang
Walking distance from Aljunied MRT
Operating Hours:
Daily: 11:30 - 15:00

Dishes:
ROJAK
Unlike the traditional kind of Rojak that is usually eaten together with a main dish, this unique version serves more of an appetizer role instead. It consists of healthy main ingredients like:
Granny Smith Apple
Pineapple
Mango
Cucumber
Taupok
All these, as well as the sour plum sauce that is doused over it, provide a sour flavour that is highly appetizing. Its taste is akin to that of Achars.
STONE POT RICE
Three words:
Pumpkin
Mushroom
Veggie
There is soooooo much of those I found it difficult to even complete it!
Such is the portion, 2 people can even share this serving of brown rice. Without a doubt, it is a really really healthy and filling choice.
Not a dish to order when you're in a rush though.
This place should be less crowded on weekdays but if you're thinking about going on a weekend like me, chances are, this place is going to be crowded and bustling with life.
So with that, Peanut has left a marker on another food place yet again.
Stay tuned, for more adventures(:

GLASS NOODLES
Very tasty for a vegetarian glass noodle. It is topped off with shredded veggies that does not take effort to congest. A quick but still filling bite if you're in a rush(:
STRAWBERRY YOGHURT
If you're thinking that this yoghurt taste like those found at Yoguru ~ think again..
Don't expect the yoghurt base to steal the show here. It is not as tasty as you think. It is a vegetarian place for a reason.
My favourite organic sunflower seeds, strawberries and raisins are the ones that make it delectable.
Still a must try in this stall(:
Apart from these, there are other dishes that you can try. Like the fish soup and olive fried rice.

This place even has a grocery and bakery side shop.
A pleasant time here in Aljunied and I hope there's many more pleasant food places that I will try out!
Stay tuned, for more adventures(:
